Industrial

Alginates have several Industrial applications such as a flux binder for welding rods in the steel industry, a creaming agent for rubber latex, a gelling agent in paper and ceramics and several other applications.

Our manufacturing facilities follow the highest standards of quality and are ISO 9001 / 14001 certified.

Common Applications of Industrial Grade Alginates

Welding Electrode

Alginate Properties

Alginate is added to the flux to provide sufficient lubrication to allow effective and smooth extrusion.

It also acts as a binder with good green strength that holds the damp mass together after extrusion and maintains the colour of the coating on the rod and eliminates shrinkage during drying and baking.

Rubber Latex

Alginate Properties

Natural rubber latex concentrates are important raw materials which are being used for the manufacture of several rubber products such as gloves, balloons, catheters, elastic etc.

Creaming is one of the methods used for obtaining latex concentrate from rubber. Ammonium Alginate is used as a creaming agent in the rubber industry.
