Seaweed Harvesting
Sargassum and Turbinaria (Brown Algae)
Sargassum and Turbinaria(Brown Algae) is collected from natural beds at Ramanathapuram, by trained deep sea divers.
Seaweed is a renewable resource which if not harvested will wash ashore. We work closely with the Fisheries Department and Environmental Ministry and follow a calendar for collection to ensure sustainable collection practices.
During season we employ 40 boats and 400 people for seaweed collections. We currently collect 20,000 metric tonnes of wet weeds per year

Eucheuma Cottonii (Red Algae)
Eucheuma Cottonii (Red Algae) is cultivated in the sea using a raft and monoline method. Currently have over 500 rafts.

Post processing of Seaweed
The seaweed is then moved to our 7 acre site in Tirupallani for post processing and then transported to our factory in Ranipet.
