THE SNAP ECOSYSTEM

Since its inception SNAP has had a strong focus on the environment and its people. We operate with zero discharge of trade effluent and focus strongly on renewable sources of energy and resources such as solar energy and rain water harvesting. We believe in uplifting local communities by providing employment opportunities and livelihood development.

To achieve Zero Discharge
we need to ensure the solids
and liquids discharged from processing can be made into useful value added products

Environmental Impact

Phycoremediation Plant

Phycoremediation Plant

We have the world’s only commercial Phycoremediation plant, which uses micro algae to neutralize acidic seaweed wash water, which is an environment friendly process. This process transforms the pollutants into biomass thereby eliminating the generation of hazardous solid waste.

Agricultural Biostimulant

Seaweed Biostimulant

Seaweed, is converted into value added Seaweed based Biostimulant using a proprietary fermentation technology. Seaweed naturally contains all nutrients and minerals required for plant and soil health.

Rain Water Harvesting

Rain Water Harvesting

Alginate processing is extremely water intensive. Through rain water harvesting we have been able to generate 25% of our total water requirements from rain water.

Solar Energy

Solar Energy

We intend to utilize renewable energy wherever possible. Our solar power plant generates approximately 100000 units of energy per year.

AT SNAP WE BELIEVE
in Equal Employment Opportunities. OUR workforce is 50% women and WE offer equal pay for equal work

We work exclusively with people from the neighbouring villages in order to promote livelihood development and provide employment opportunities to our local communities.

MEET THE COMMUNITY

At SNAP we work closely with the fisherfolk communities to develop their livelihoods. We help them build their seaweed businesses by investing in new boats and rafts. We also support local schools and hospitals to bring about overall development in these areas
